I don't use Amazon Pay and Bharat Pay anymore. The thing is, people used to come every 2-3 months to change the barcodes used by apps like Amazon Pay and BharatPe. It has been quite some time since anyone from Amazon Pay came to change the barcode. So, I had no option but to stop using the Amazon Pay app. I had the same issue with BharatPe. As for GPay and PhonePe, people from these companies come to my shop regularly to change the barcode. They come once a month to change the barcode.
With the introduction of these payment apps, making payments has become much safer and more secure. Now people don't have to carry cash with them; they can make payments through apps like GPay or PhonePe. When it comes to the vendors and salesmen who come to my shop, they make payments to me through GPay if they don't have any cash. So, I do use these payment apps frequently for business purposes.
I trust PhonePe more than Gpay because money never gets stuck there. In Gpay, money gets stuck for as long as 3 days sometimes. Many times, my money has been stuck on Gpay for 3 days, and I can't do anything about it. I have to wait for 3 days and after that, the money will either come to me or be returned to the customer. If the customer doesn't have cash, they can send the payment directly to me through PhonePe or Gpay before the repair is done. I started offering these online payment options to meet the needs of my customers.
Yes, it's become easy after PhonePe and GPay has come. Every morning, I learn how much I earned the previous day. Some people pay cash, but now I can see how much I have earned and how much money is going to my account. I have to remember daily who paid cash and who paid online.
This Gpay and PhonePe is good; now I can call the customer and that I need payment for their vehicle repair and request them to send it; it's easier; otherwise customer will have to wait when I ask him to come and pay. They are at their jobs and can't come till evening. Over phone they make online payment.
Wholesalers provide a bill for the total amount. We conduct business for a month and then pay them in cash or by cheque, depending on the date. We have a 30-day timeframe. If I go to the village, the payment will be delayed as there is no one to make the payment in my absence. I have to make adjustments once I return. I mostly give cheques and do not use Google Pay or PhonePe as I am not familiar with them and there is a risk of the payment going to the wrong people. I have been cheated once before when a customer claimed to have paid 1180 but I did not receive the money. It turned out that the customer did not have enough balance, and I received a message regarding the same. Therefore, I do not use it. I had a negative experience with it in the past. Now, I know how to check the payments from customers. I confirm whether the money has been credited to my account before delivering the items.
I don't prefer using QR codes. I prefer asking for cash as my first choice. I don't want to be cheated. If they don't have cash, then I suggest using PhonePe. I ask for cash from 90% of the customers.
I don't know how to pay someone using these apps. I only know how to receive payments. I open the app and check. I have not sent money to anyone yet. Once, I was in my village when my auditor called me. It was the last day to pay the professional tax of Rs. 2500. He asked me to pay using Google Pay or PhonePe. I asked him to guide me over the phone and I would follow the instructions. It happened only once. I paid 2500 like that, just following his instructions. However, I don't remember now what I did.
I decided to use Google Pay because people started asking for G-Pay. Otherwise, they won't come to us. I would tell them that they can take the items and pay later when they have the money. The Lord will remind you to pay me, so don't worry about that. You will be surprised when that happens. They can make payments online using G-Pay, or they can pay in cash. I chose G-Pay because a representative from Google Pay approached me and offered it. The representatives of Google Pay, the volunteers, came to me. It has been about a year now that I have been using G-Pay. They said it is good and that my payments wouldn't be stopped. If there is any issue, they will come soon. They asked if I wanted a sound box, but I declined, as everything will be shown on the mobile. Any payments received will be shown on the mobile these days. I don't have any other UPI apart from G-Pay, and it is good. If I see others using different apps, then I will consider them. I saw that Google Pay was good. Many people I know said that Google Pay is good. The vendors also told me that G-Pay is good. They said it is good, and they are very experienced compared to us, so I thought, okay, let's go ahead with it. No option for card payments.
There has been a positive change when I started using UPI. If I have to pay any vendor, I can do it using my mobile. If someone asks for help with money, we can tell them that we don't have it, as everything is being done through mobile. Technology has helped me.
Yes, Paytm machine and card machine are available, a customer should not be troubled during the payment process. We don't have finance facilities like Bajaj finance. I use Phone pe, Patym and not Googlepay.
No card machine. We have a code to scan. One is Google Pay, and there is one more app. Since most of the customers were paying online, we had to keep the barcode.
I don't believe in this (laughs). I don't believe in all of this. I feel there's nothing like a man and a woman. Whenever problems arise, it doesn't see anything. Money is the biggest thing. Every relationship is connected through money. My husband never stopped me. I go alone to buy clothes. In-laws told me in the beginning not to go alone. How will you do that? My husband told me to do it and be independent. He only supported and taught me. I didn't know about Paytm; he taught me about that. You should do it on your own, what if I am not there tomorrow? He told me that. He taught me how to withdraw money from ATMs; I didn't know all of this. He opened an account in the bank and asked me to do things on my own. Now I make payments online. Earlier, I used to take cash. He used to appreciate and encourage me to go. Do it on your own. Yes, my husband has supported me a lot.
It's been 2.5-3 years that I have been using online payment method. I check it immediately and then only I let them go. I check my SMS in the Paytm app. Sometimes I get SMS and sometimes I don't. Sometimes I open the bank's app and check if the payment has come or not. Sometimes I don't get a message.
My favorites are PhonePe, Paytm, and Google Pay. All of them are available. And mainly, I am using Google Pay and PhonePe, but Paytm is also available. The thing with Paytm is that if it's registered with my phone, I will receive the message even if I'm not there. There is one problem with Google Pay - it's not available on iOS applications. Yes, Google Pay Business app is available on Android but not on iOS.
QR codes have brought about a revolution. If someone is giving me cash, they will round it off and QR codes make it easy. For example, if someone has come to buy things and they didn't think it would cost this much money, if they have a particular list of products and they thought it would cost around 20k, but if it exceeds 20k, then they know they have this much amount of money in their account and they can pay me through that. Generally, people have money in their account and no one keeps cash with them. So UPI makes it easier to pay from your bank account.
I get a lot of benefits because of UPI. I receive a lot of instant payments. For example, if I have to accept a payment from someone who is far away and unable to send me a check, or doesn't have enough time to make a bank transfer, they can directly share the screenshot of my QR code. This feature is also available in WhatsApp. With a single click, it shares your banking details. For example, I can send them my details with a single click using this WhatsApp business feature. This option is available. And if I have to send an address, for example, if I do this, then this payment detail is sent to them. We can do it in a single click. They will receive both the QR code and bank details, and they can send me the money in whichever way they prefer. If someone asks me to send them my address, then I can send them the address with the location in a single click. So the address is sent to them in text as well as the location. I came to know about these things Through YouTube.
We offer two payment options: Google Pay and Paytm. We used to have a card machine, but we closed it because it was only free for transactions up to Rs. 30,000. After that, they charged around 2%. Moreover, if someone wanted to pay with a card for a Rs. 30,000 transaction, we couldn't process it. The card machine had some issues and had a monthly rental fee of Rs. 200. However, they have now discontinued the card machine and replaced it with a new system. The new system charges Rs. 200 plus 2%. These were the problems we faced. Since the launch, I have been using QR codes for payments.
I have everything. QR code, Google Pay, and Phone Pe. No, I don't have a card machine. People ask for QR codes. If I have a card machine, I have to pay 2%. It will be credited to them too. So I decided not to have that. First, they gave me credit cards from the bank. I said I don’t want anything. Full and full cash and carry only. After the QR code, I started using it. First Paytm gave it to me and I've been using it since then.
I didn't see any significant changes 5 years ago, but it is better now because of this mobile. Now it is a little easier; I mean, now the farmers can bring photos of their farms and everything, and you can make payments online with this as well. Yes, I am comfortable. I don't mind how I receive the payments; anything is fine for me.
Yes, there are changes with QR code and it is also easy. You saw now that person did not have the change, he went outside and searched for the change but he did not get it. Through QR code, you can easily pay any amount you want. Our time is saved. See, he is one of our vendors; he is a Brahmin. Anytime I phone him up, anytime he brings the stock to me.
Earlier, when we didn't have PhonePe and Google Pay, a customer came and made a Xerox copy worth 15 rupees. Let me give you an example. He would say that he has 10 rupees now and he would give the remaining 5 rupees later, and that's it. Now, when someone says they have 10 rupees, I ask them to send me the remaining 5 rupees on PhonePe. That's the benefit.
I use UPI for customers, as they scan this and use Phone Pe and Google Pay. People send money using UPI, and they also give me cash. Phone Pe is used more frequently. Cash transactions are also done, depending on the case - sometimes it's cash, and sometimes it's Phone Pe. Phone Pe is the preferred method. I have a business app for Phone Pe, as well as Amazon and Google Pay. I didn't keep more apps because I would get confused. That's why I have only two. I would have the benefit of tallying this, just like what happened in both of these. I find it easy to calculate this. I have the app PhonePe, and there I can see this. That's the business app. Then, what I get on Google Pay, I see that on the Account statement. If I have more than that, I would be confused. I have only these two. I had Bharat Pay before, and now I have closed it. I have only these two now.
QR code has experienced significant growth. It is similar to when someone has 100 rupees with them and goes to a shop, but finds something they like worth 500 rupees. They can quickly make the purchase using the QR code. This is beneficial for those who prefer not to carry any credit with them while shopping. Even if they don't have cash, they can still make the payment online. This is a major advantage. Personally, I never carry cash and prefer to make online payments wherever I go. When I realized the benefits of QR code payments, I also introduced it to my customers. With QR code payments, customers can even make online payments when the shop is closed for 2 days. Online payments have significantly contributed to the growth of businesses.
I had a UPI QR code, but now I don't want to use it because it is very important to have immediate transactions and it's important to receive payment right away. Not everyone likes to use UPI payments, and I also don't use it very often, which is why I don't prefer to accept payments through UPI. I prefer to accept cash from customers for this reason. Sometimes, when the distributor's representatives come, they cannot determine whether the distributor has received the payment or not. In such cases, they advise me to pay in cash, so I opt for cash transactions. I have that option, but we don't use it, and only a few customers use it. I basically tell them that I prefer cash transactions because I will not be able to operate without cash. If I don't have cash, how will I buy products for the shop? I have used UPI, but you see, I don't receive the payment in my hand. If some representatives of a distributor come to me and ask for cash, then I will have no cash with me. If I tell them that I have online money, they will not agree to that, and I will need to make a payment. If I don't have cash, then how will I make my payment?
I accept UPI payments only sometimes! Sometimes, a person might have a cold drink and may not have money - so at that time, I cannot just let that person go, and I decide to take UPI payment.
I learned about UPI a year ago, but there were many negative things being said about it, such as money getting deducted and so on. People thought that money would be taken out of their accounts easily, but later I realized that there are many advantages. Most customers don't carry cash anymore. They come and ask if we accept PhonePe and Google Pay. They might not have made the purchases if I didn't accept it.
The customers make payments too. It is very advantageous. My perception about UPI changed when I repaid my loan. They said I could also pay them back this way. They had a scanner, and I made payments from there. I could also receive the money this way, and I was assured that the money would go to the right place. That is why I said they could proceed with it.
QR code was advantageous. I had a current account with them, then the PhonePe people came to me. The Google Pay chap came as well. There were two different boys. I took another UPI because it was a personal one. I was given this machine by Google Pay. Then there is the PhonePe one. They are both so good. They gave a machine also.
I thought of using UPI because of the customers' demand. Maybe they didn't have cash and wanted to make UPI payments. That's why. After this is installed, we have solved the problem of small currency changes. If the bill is 220 or 210 rupees and the customer does not have 10 rupees change, then they can use Phone Pe or Google Pay. This advantage exists. We used to tell them to pay later because he did not have change of 10 rupees in his pocket. I also do not have small change. This is useful to avoid the problem of small currency changes. Suppose the bill was 210 rupees, and the customer had 300 rupees... we did not have change for 90 rupees. At that time, we asked customers to pay 10 rupees, and the customer paid that through UPI or in cash if they had it. Previously, this used to cause a little problem. If they did not have change, they would come after some time and give that amount. Or they used to keep 300 rupees with us and later gave 10 rupees and took their 100 rupees back.
Customers pay online. I started using UPI 2 years ago. Earlier, it used to be only cash payments. The number of transactions was also lower. Whoever comes, they keep asking for Paytm. Sometimes they say that they will get cash the next day, but we don't receive the money. So, we thought it would be better to have an app.
We check the received payment by monitoring the alert in the box. If they deposit it into my son's account, I don't receive a notification. I have to ask my son directly. We don't have a box for Bharat Pay. If the customers are unfamiliar to us, they would save our name in their phone. If we are unable to check, then I ask my brother. My son goes out and we are unaware if the money has been credited. We only find out when we check our mobile. They simply leave after claiming that the payment has been made and show the checkmark. Then my son comes and informs me that the money has not been received. When they return to our shop, we inform them that we have not received the money and ask them to pay again. They would also know when they check their bank account. We tend to only check if the amount is significant. We don't bother if it's just 5 or 10 rupees.
We have PhonePe. Before that, I used to take cash. It has been 4 years of using PhonePe. During the demonetization time, many people came for business through PhonePe. Customers also used to say that they didn't have cash and they wanted to use PhonePe. I missed a lot of customers because of this. Then, I decided to go for it. I don't trust anybody and I don't even lend my phone. I have asked many people about this. But we have to trust somebody and move on.
If the vendor gives 5% discount means, the payment will have to be made within a week. I will pay in GPay or pay in account. He will send his account number. I go to the bank and transfer money in his account.
